Reagarding Agenda topics for the next meeting 16-04-07, I can only comment on the Prep toilets since my child uses those toilets. It is a bit dissappointing that they are not as clean as they should be. Since cleanliness is part of our religion the school needs to ensure that their are adequate jugs for Istinga so that children practise what our religion prescribes.
We are aware of the issues regarding the prep toilets. The lack of cleanliness was brought up in our first meeting in March. We were asked to carry out spot checks to monitor the state of them but didn't get time in our last meeting to discuss the results. Hopefully, we will talk about that in the meeting on 16 April. Some parents have suggested the toilet block could be renovated/upgraded by a working bee, whereas others feel that the toilet block is beyond repair and needs replacing.
Last time I checked the toilet in the morning with Leila the toilet block was full of mosquitos. Some taps were still running because the taps are too hard for the prep students to shut. The drain in the sink was muddy. The pipe was rusty. Also there are rust marks on the toilet wall. There was a hole in two toilet doors where it looked like someone punched it. It looks like only the floor is being cleaned not the wall. The smell may be coming from the wall.
Good news. The issues regarding the Prep toilets are being resolved by the Board. Full details at the CPAC meeting tomorrow night (16 April).
